Funeral Services for Darrell Ives

A lovely Mass was held for Darrell at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Orion MI. Gerald and Jada Edwards--founders of the Edwards Foundation--announced the Darrell Ives Award, which will be awarded each year at the Foundation's Gala event. This award will be presented to the person exemplifying Darrell's spirit of compassion, love, support and passion for the mission of the foundation.
Martin and Andy of Depeche Mode were in attendance and announced a trust fund established by the band for Darrell's children Vinnie and Keonna as well as their plans to continue support of the Edwards Foundation in Darrell's memory. For information on how to contribute to the Darrell Ives Trust visit: http://www.depechemode.com/news/index.html
A luncheon was held after the ceremony where we all enjoyed photographs of Darrell exchanged funny stories and viewed a lovely video presentation of his life, his family & friends and his work with the foundation.
We are still all in shock. Africa has truly lost a son.

DARRELL WAS GOD'S GIFT TO MANKIND.

I feel so blessed and so honoured to have been part of his life and to have shared so many beautiful moments with him.

His love for his kids was unconditional and he literrally got them under his skin.

He loved Africa so much and he was so devoted and dedicated to the orphans over there.
He kept on talking about Mr Edwards, the foundation, his property in Namibia and how involved he and is children were.

He adored showing me pictures of Africa and the kids.
He would show me a picture of his daughter, Keeona, with an African kid and told me: "Here is Keeona with her godson, isnt't she Amazing? She is so smart, intelligent and generous, I'm so proud of her".
Then he would show me a picture of his son and proudly tell me how stunning and talented he was."A great football player".

Even if he spent most of his time far away from home, he was always talking about his kids (his own and the kids in Africa).

He was so cheerful (We had so much fun together !), generous, protective and passionate.

Darrell had so much love to give, so much to share.

Love you.

GOD BLESS YOU DARRELL !
